Johor Bahru was divided into three local authorities namely Johor Bahru City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru, MBJB) which was previously known as Johor Bahru Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru, MPJB), Iskandar Puteri City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MBIP previously known as Johor Bahru Tengah Municipal Council / Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah, MPJBT) which was previously known as Johor Bahru Tengah District Council (Majlis Daerah Johor Bahru Tengah, MDJBT) and Pasir Gudang Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Pasir Gudang, MPPG) which was previously known as Pasir Gudang Local Authority (Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan Pasir Gudang, PBTPG).
At the time this blogpost was being typed... the Iskandar Puteri City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MBIP) office is still located in Skudai and there are rumors stating that the Iskandar Puteri City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MBIP) office located in Skudai will be relocated to the Medini Iskandar area, Iskandar Puteri in accordance with the name of the government urbanization agency.
It is not certain what will happen to the Iskandar Puteri City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MBIP) office building located in Skudai if the Iskandar Puteri City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MBIP) operates fully in their new office in Medini Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri.
For your information... before being upgraded to an urbanization agency with city council status... Iskandar Puteri City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MBIP) is known as the Johor Bahru Tengah Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah, MPJBT) which was previously known as the Johor Bahru Tengah District Council (Majlis Daerah Johor Bahru Tengah, MDJBT). MPJBT and MDJBT operate in Skudai town.
Therefore... the author of this blog thinks that a new local authority have the potential to be created in Skudai under the name Skudai Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Skudai, MPSKu) which administers 2 parishes, namely Parish of Tebrau which is located in Skudai and Parish of Pulai. This aims to provide smoothness and further facilitate the governance of urbanization in this cosmopolitan district of Johor Bahru.
Anyway... the author of this blog hopes that one day in the future... this thing can become real.
